Root Canal Therapy

Root canal treatment replaces a tooth's damaged or infected pulp with a filling. The damage may be caused by untreated decay, decay beneath a filling, tooth damage due to trauma, tooth grinding (bruxism) or gum disease.

You will probably require a local anaesthetic, and you may need several visits to complete your treatment, depending on the complexity of your root canal.

Once the procedure is finished, the treated tooth should last as long as any other tooth, provided it is kept clean and you maintain good oral hygiene.
